嘉兴市是中国东部沿海长江三角洲地区与上海接壤的一个港口城市，东距上海市90公里，西南距杭州市90公里，北距苏州市70公里，东南距嘉兴港40公里。嘉兴经济发达，是长江三角洲地区理想的制造业基地，也是嘉兴市打造浙江省“接轨上海，扩大开放”的前沿阵地和城乡一体化的先行之地。嘉兴是浙江省的省辖市，下辖秀城、秀洲两个区，平湖、海宁、桐乡三个市和嘉善、海盐两个县。全市面积3915平方公里，总人口372万。
Jiaxing is a harbor
city located in the Yangtze Delta in Eastern China
bordering on Shanghai with 90 kilometers away
to its east. It is 90 kilometers to Hangzhou to
the southwest, 70 kilometers to Suzhou to the
north and 40 kilometers to Jiaxing Harbor to the
southeast. In light of its booming economy, Jiaxing
is not only an ideal manufacturing base in the
Yangtze Delta but a frontline in Jiaxing's access
to Shanghai through continuous opening-up. Under
the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing
affiliates urban and suburban districts and three
cities namely Pinghu, Haining and Tongxiang as
well as two counties namely Jiashan and Haiyan.
Its total area is 3,915 square kilometers with
a total population of 3.72 million. |
